Pharmacy

My name is Viola, a student of Victoria University pursuing a bachelor's degree in pharmacy  that will take me 5 years (just writing this statement makes me pinch myself just to see if this isn't actually a dream). God has been so faithful enough to let me be part of Mission Boundless and that is a gift I can never take lightly.5 years ago if someone told me I would be pursuing a bachelor's degree in pharmacy at Victoria university, I know I would have told you to stop kidding because I knew so well my mother could never afford even a quarter of the tuition.

I am just in my first year and first trimester but with God's favor I am already the president of my cohort (intake) and a representative of my class and my grades are good (GPA 4.1). My best friend and I found a new church near school and I plan to  play the guitar or serve in the kids ministry  telling them more about God, praying with them and playing around with them. Oh how I love serving kids, I believe it is my calling. Also kids make me a certain kind of joy and peace. I feel like everything is calm and okay...I can't explain it well but kids make me feel different (in a  good way). I was honestly worried about the change that was going to happen when I joined school, I mean leaving home, making new friends and being in new people but God eased it for me that he made my best friend from my former school to be my roommate.

I have encountered issues like getting home sick,  and also being at school knowing my mom is sick and feeling so far away to help every time she gets a complication. But I have prayed to God and made peace with it somehow and I am getting used to everything now. And whenever it gets tough I remember that this was my dream  and my  prayer  since I was 13 years old so I tell myself to remember that I am living an answered prayer. Also I have been holding onto the scripture Philippians 4:13 (I can do all this thru Him who gives me strength) and it has helped a lot in my journey.

It's been my dream to study pharmacy and I believe after achieving my bachelor's degree, I plan to help protect people and to eradicate the poor prescriptions behaviors of most doctors in Uganda and the drug misuse among the doctors and some health workers in Uganda just because they can, so I plan  to join the NDA (National Drug Authority) and the ministry of health so that i can pass my suggestions on the right way with God's blessing.

I also plan on  having a stable source of income so that I can help my siblings and my mom  so she can be able to stop working so that she can rest since she is sick . I pray to God that after studying I get to be part of Mission Boundless not as a student but as a sponsor (donor) to help some kids who may be in the same situation as I was of not being able to afford school and achieve their dreams because as I grow up I have come to realize most of my friends or the kids around me have issues with school fees, so words can't express how much I am thankful to God and to mum Pat for giving me the opportunity to achieve my dream through Mission Boundless.

I would love to thank everyone that has a hand in mission boundless and I pray that the Lord continues to bless, protect and provide to them with everything they desire.

Warm greetings my lovely  Mission Boundless. It's amazing  and indeed miraculous, indescribable and very profound that a person may take interest to extend his or her support to a people she doesn't know, have never met, not even sure whether will ever meet. I am left with no sound about what God's love is, I just don't know how to explain it. Sometimes I feel like I should find a high mountain and shout aloud, maybe people get to my attention and comprehend this love that is full in my heart.

My story in 2019, was all vanity and vexation of the heart; nothing meaningful, could cross my mind.. I was like a damsel in distress. I had no hope, everything around was nothing but a reflection of the agony I should have go through if not for this Grace and love of God through Mission Boundless.

MB is not just an organization, but it is a family to me and to all my fellas. We are indeed grateful.

I cannot compare the person I am today with the person I was back then, without hope for a living. Allow me testify of the goodness of God as long as I live.

Because of MB, I was able to accomplish a certificate in electronics technology where a lot of God's blessings were opened and poured to me. While at JVTI, I served in scripture Union and also served the school as a GUILD PRESIDENT. I served faithfully and at my departure, the school managed together with the fellow students entrusted me with the position of "CHAIRMAN OLD STUDENTS ASSOCIATION". Look how God is making ways for me from zero to hero, because I now represent the old students.  I sit with the BOG of the school, a board comprised very prominent ladies and gentlemen in the country. This is all because of the love of God through MB.

As if that is not enough, one of the old student was in search for an instructor of electronics at an Institute where she is the HR, I just applied jokingly but I went through,  this part time job has helped me support two of nieces with their school fees though it isn't enough cater for their needs as girls but at least enough to keep in front of a blackboard.

I chose to keep learning so that I may become more successful and still Mission Boundless gave me a chance to carry my enthusiasm to the next level as I pursue a Diploma in Biomedical Engineering at Ernest Cook University currently.

I feel so blessed. I believe and know that in God's house there is a lot more for me because I represent a thousand behind me. My vision of life is not just to my house, it is for the nations and so help me God.

I feel much better talking of the goodness of God.

Lots of love,
Abel BLESSING

Approximately 50% of Uganda’s population is under the age of 15. (2015) Average income is $200/yr per household.  Poverty is a cycle, so you do what you know.  When food and shelter aren’t available, there’s no way to think of the next step – it’s just about surviving. By helping to fulfill the hierarchy of needs, we make it possible to think for the future.
